Season highlight Monaco for BWT Lechner Racing after three podiums at Imola

The Monaco Grand Prix is not only a huge highlight of the season for Formula 1, but also for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The race at the famous and extremely challenging street circuit of Monte Carlo has a long tradition going back to the first GP in 1929. It requires perfect focus of the drivers for every second over each lap at the tight 3.337 km track between walls and armcos, the slightest mistake proving most likely to be very costly.

BWT Lechner Racing is coming to Monaco after a successful start into the season at Imola last weekend, with all three drivers on the podium and being able to take a trophy home. After his Monte Carlo victory in 2023 Harry King of course is especially fired up to repeat his performance, while the two rookies Robert de Haan and Theo Oeverhaus after finishing P1 and P2 in the rookie classification at Imola will have to focus on getting familiarized with the difficult track.

Robert Lechner, BWT Lechner Racing Team Principal: “The Monaco F1 weekend always has a very unique flair and so is an early highlight in the season. Being part of the whole atmosphere with our Porsche Supercup team feels great every year. Thinking of last year with Harry King´s victory and having Bastian Buus also on the podium with P3 brings back amazing memories for the whole team. For sure for our two rookies Robert and Theo racing at Monaco for the first time will be a special challenge – as for any driver competing here for the first time.”

Harry King: “Of course I have very fond memories from last year, taking victory here. So I am really looking forward to going back to this unique and special circuit which has a huge amount of history and where it´s always a privilege to be racing on.”

Robert de Haan: “I am really looking forward to Monaco, but it´s my first time there, so I will be a rookie. I really have got to learn the track in free practice and after that we will see where we end up in qualifying. It will be a weekend where I just have to score points, after that we will focus on more podiums.”

Theo Oeverhaus: “Monaco is definitely something very special for me, but it is also the most difficult race in the calendar. So the preparation was very intense, but now I feel ready and really can´t wait to drive there.”
