In 2016, a well-known name in motorsport decided to run his own team in the German Porsche Carrera Cup. Christoph Huber, who had worked for the gearbox and differential manufacturer Drexler and later as a team manager for Walter Lechner Sr. at Lechner Racing, founded Huber Racing. Over the next few years, the team became a regular participant in the German Porsche Carrera Cup as well as in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Young talents like Porsche Junior Dennis Olsen, now a factory driver for Ford, professionals like Michael Ammermüller, Larry ten Voorde or Porsche Driver Laurin Heinrich competed for the team. In 2024, Huber Motorsport teamed up with Christian Ried’s Proton Competition, one of the most prestigious teams in the WEC and ELMS, forming Proton Huber Competition. Team Principal Christoph Huber states: "The joint venture with Proton Competition was a big step for us, and we are very pleased to have Proton Competition as a partner. Our know-how in cup racing, combined with the technical and logistical experience of Proton Competition, creates the perfect synergy." In 2023, the team also ventured into GT3, running a Porsche GT3R in the ADAC GT Masters. 
A second-place finish at the 24H Race in Dubai highlights the team's progress and professionalism. With the 2024 participation in the Michelin Le Mans Cup the Team is a step closer to compete in Le Mans in the future. This year, Proton Huber Competition will run five cars in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany, with Dutch driver Larry ten Voorde leading the team and aiming for the title. In the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the team is running three cars, preparing young talents like Alexander Tauscher (GER) for the future. Next to this championships Proton Huber runs a bunch of cars in the Porsche Sportscup Suisse, Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe and is aiming a comeback at the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East to educate young talents and ambitious gentlemen.
